Narcisse Poirier was born in Saint-Félix de Valois, county of Joliette on March 19, 1883. He moved in Montreal at 16 years old to develop is innate talent for drawing. He studies with the best professors of the time, at the national Monument, at l’Académie Julian of Paris, the Museum of the fine arts. He was honoured with several prices and mentions because of his particular style. He devoted all of his life to his art and stopped painting at 92 years old with a lot of regrets. He lived a very happy life, well assisted by three wives, the last married at 79 years old and supported by many faithful customers. He died slowly on April 3, 1984, at 101 years old after a life filled with joy and with the great regret of his three children.
